Thai me up...

So, last Saturday we went to this new thailand restaurant in cagayan de oro City, called Thai me up, I never tasted or even heard of people talking about thai cuisine so I was a really pessimistic about the food and the restaurant itself which is why I'm writing this blog. Don't get me wrong, this is not a review of some sort because I really suck at making those, just consider this as a sharing of an experience or something like that. So, let's get this started before I go off topic again:

The restaurant is located at Capistrano-Mabini Street, so going to that part of divisoria (it is a part of divisoria right?) made me think, "is there such a space for this kind of restaurant in this part of the city? The restaurant must be small if its located at this part", so my eyes wandered from left to right trying to find the so-called restaurant, until finally I saw a certain lot, fenced in by strips of wood or bamboo of some sort which had a medium sized signboard which said: Thai me up and so we went inside and I was amazed to see that you could actually park inside the lot, although there weren't that much parking space I think if I remember correctly there are space for, this is just my estimate, 10-15 cars but still I was amazed and my pessimistic expectations were slowly shattered when I saw the restaurant itself.

me likeh glowing door~

We were welcomed by this neon violet/purple colored door which made me feel like I was going to some magical place (it felt like going inside the Aladin Movie..hahaha) and when we went inside, we were welcomed by soothing Bossa Nova music which I really love and in my opinion blended well with the atmosphere,  it was like coming inside a high class restaurant (I couldn't say 5 star or anything like that because I really haven't gone to those kinds of restaurants yet, so let's just say "high class") I really liked the ambiance of the place it felt warm and very relaxing there were a lot of lights but you don't feel that's it too bright, it was just right and when I looked up I feel in love with their ceiling, it had this chandelier like contraption (couldn't find anything better to campre it to..hehe) and the ceiling was decorated with flowers. I love how they decorated the place, it great but still simple. I'm going to have a hard time describing the place so let me just show you guys some pictures.

  XD

it was made that way, not broken or anything..i think..XD

I really wanted to sit there T__T

christmas tree..hahaha

So, there, I don't know about you guys but I really loved the place and honestly, I wanted to take more pictures but I was getting embarrassed, people were staring at me and I think I was giving the waiters and waitresses a hard time serving the customers' orders. So, when I sat down they were already done ordering, (I got busy taking pictures) I didn't even had a chance to look at the menu, so I had no idea what they ordered. The service was quite good, our orders arrived in just 12-15 minutes with a fair number of people. This was what we ordered.

thai me up cooler

bagoong fried rice(that garnish are mangoes)

pork spare ribs

flat noodles

beef in basil sauce

thai spring rolls

fried fish with SS (ss? special sauce?)

Those were what we had and I have to say, I love Thai food!!! I'm not a fried rice person but I really loved their bagoong fried rice and their  fried fish with "special sauce" (the taste still lingers in my mouth). Their thai coolers, which according to my dad was just a 4 seasons drink that was jazzed up was really refreshing and tasty. It was all delicious but according to my sisters and parents they weren't all that crazy with the spare ribs. After eating we rested for a while, comfort room breaks and etc, then we asked for the bill, (this part was a bit tense because my mom is really strict on budget and she didn't want to eat here in the first place) a dish would cost somewhere between 150Php -180Php (for what we had) so, we only spent 1,223Php for everything (I breathed a sigh of relief I honestly thought we would spend more).

before

after

To sum it all up (this will be short because I'm starting to feel the urge to play settlers again), it was a night of shocking revelation, I'm really thankful for being pessimistic, hahaha, mainly because I underestimated the place too much (lesson learned, always underestimate a restaurant to have a great dinning experience). I really enjoyed the whole experience it was truly "appeThaizing".

Owl City - Fireflies

Owl City - Fireflies

Song writers: Young, Adam

You Would Not Believe Your Eyes
If Ten Million Fireflies
Light Up The World As I Fell Asleep

'Cause They Fill The Open Air
And Leave Teardrops Everywhere
You'd Think me Rude
But I Wouuld Just Stand And stare

I'd Like To make Myself Believe That Planet earth Turns Slowly
It's Hard To Say That I'd Rather Stay Awake When I'm Asleep
Cause Everything Is Never As It Seems

'Cause I'd Get A Thousand Hugs
From Ten Thousand Lightning Bugs
As They Tried To Teach Me How To Dance

A Foxtrot Above My head
A Sockhop Beneath My Bed
A Disco Ball Is Just hanging By A thread

I'd Like To make Myself Believe That Planet earth Turns Slowly
It's Hard To Say That I'd Rather Stay Awake When I'm Asleep
Cause Everything Is Never As It Seems

When I Fall Asleep
Leave My Door Open Just A crack
(Please Take Me Away From Here)
Cause I Feel Like Such An Insomniac
(Please Take Me Away From Here)
Why Do I Tire Of Counting Sheep
(Please Take Me Away From Here)
When I'm far Too Tired To Fall Asleep

To Ten Million Fireflies
I'm Weird Cause I Hate Goodbyes
I Got Misty Eyes As They Said Farewell

But I'll Know Where Several Are
If My Dreams Get Real Bizzare
Cause I Saved A Few And I Keep Them In A Jar

I'd Like To make Myself Believe That Planet earth Turns Slowly
It's Hard To Say That I'd Rather Stay Awake When I'm Asleep
Cause Everything Is Never As It Seems
When I Fall Asleep

I'd Like To make Myself Believe That Planet earth Turns Slowly
It's Hard To Say That I'd Rather Stay Awake When I'm Asleep
Cause Everything Is Never As It Seems
When I Fall Asleep

I'd Like To make Myself Believe That Planet earth Turns Slowly
It's Hard To Say I'd Rather Stay Awake When I'm Asleep
Because My Dreams Are Bursting At The Seams

Making a List..

So, Christmas is fast approaching and I know for a fact that a lot of people already have their "what I want for Christmas List" and so I thought I should make one too, although frankly speaking the last time I wrote a list I still believed in Santa Claus it was kind of sad actually I gave my 110% to write to somebody that isn't even real, my parents were probably smirking and laughing when they were reading my Christmas List which included a super invention of some sort and something from the power ranger world and weapons of mass destruction *sigh* I knew there was something wrong when Santa never gave me what I wanted and my gift turns out to be parallel dimensions away from my list I don't remember what I thought when I received the gifts from "Santa" but I think it would sound like this; "maybe there was a mistake when Santa gave the gift" or "maybe I wasn't really that good this year..I knew punching wasn't a good idea" to sum it all up it sucks! It's kind of a traumatic experience waiting to ensue.

So, enough about Santa Claus, Here's my List:

* Xbox 360
* Brand new high end phone
* a New Video Card
* a Sony Bravia TV
* a DLSR camera
* money
* a job
* new shoes
* new bags
* new clothes

yup, that's my list although I'm sure 95% of things in the list I won't get..but screw it..boredom is brewing and its better to do something productive than just starring at the computer like a mindless zombie..

Advance Merry Christmas guys!!!

Fair..Unfair

Well, there was this one time when I was heading home and I rode on this jeepney and I heard a conversation between two guys, I forgot what they were talking about but the other guy said "we can't do anything about it..Life is Unfair" then it hit me, is life really the one who's not fair? "Life is not fair" I'm sure everybody is familiar with this phrase and its counterpart such as "The world is not fair" or "The Universe is not fair" and etc., young or old, rich or poor everybody considers this as a fact. But does it really work this way? Is Life/The World/The Universe really out there to get us? I wasn't really gonna say anything about Life's fairness but then I heard it again when I was watching Dexter (not Dexter's laboratory..Dexter the serial killer..just google it XD) and I drew the line.

Let's look at the angle a little different, so, ok, we all know that there are different kinds of people out there right? rich, marginalized, smart, mentally challenged(dumb is such a harsh word..hehe), white ,black, good looking, physically challenged(ugly is such as harsh word..hehe) and etc. and when we are not smart or good looking or rich we say life is unfair but the truth is, we people are the ones giving others and ourselves labels, life didn't just close his eyes and picked the kid who was going to be the smartest or the super rich kid, we are who we are, if we remove the labels and accusations in the end we are just humans, humans that were given the opportunity to live. I'm not writing this post to preach about God's plans or reasons why we are created the way we are, I'm just giving my opinion(so please don't troll me..T__T). Others say that the reason why the world is unfair is to challenge us, to help us overcome our weaknesses and improve ourselves, but is that really the case?

If I make this post longer then I would have to pull my eyes out because I'm going zig zag with this topic, but what I'm trying to say is(wohoo~ finally we get to the point) I believe that life is fair, the universe is just, its the people living his/her life in this universe who are not. So, why are there people who are smart and people who are mentally challenged, good looking and physically challenged? because we made them so, it is human nature to label things which are different from them. Why are there people who are rich and marginalized? because there are some people who work hard and people who are just lazy(you see I'm labeling again..hehe) but there are marginalized people who wok hard, yes there are but they weren't given the opportunity by the other people living in this earth. There is a reason why there are a billion people on this earth, we are imperfect and for us to be perfect we have to work together(cue song about working together and stuff). Think about it, if we lose the discrimination, hate and greed, this world will be fair. *bow*

If you don't disagree or you have points you would like to share just comment(I said comment not troll me..) I'm sorry if it was roller coaster ride, I had a hard time explaining my point T__T again it is only my opinion don't stone me...

Resurection..

*sigh* After a loooooong time of absence I decided that I'll give blogging another chance, why? you ask? because I'm bored and I can't find anything else better to do. I'm hungry and I can't think of anything to write (heck! I can't even think properly I wrote "hard" as "heard" three times already..thank the heavens for spell check) about except my longing to get my hands on pizza, hamburgers, french fries and chicken's skin *drool* Oh yeah! After almost a year of planning to change my blog and plurk theme I finally did it *cue fireworks* but both are still incomplete *boooo!!!* *sigh* I got annoyed with CSS(its one those things that hates me) so I have no idea when I'm going to finish the themes that I started.

I'm having a hard time staring at the computer doing nothing, so if you guys could give me something productive to do with the computer, it would be greatly appreciated. *bow*
