Animes that deserved a share in the spotlight...

So, i've been watching and downloading lots of animes recently but for quite sometime now i have observed that some really good animes, that deserved a share in the limelight, always have a tendency to get overshadowed by other animes. I know and understand that each of us have their own preferences, but I just don't think its fair for good titles such as the ones im going to post, just be forgotten just like that..

First stop..

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge

The Wallflower: Yamatonadeshiko Shichihenge (ヤマト ナデシコ 七変化, Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge?), or The Wallflower for short, is a manga series written by Tomoko Hayakawa (はやかわ ともこ, Hayakawa Tomoko?). The manga is being serialized in Bessatsu Friend and has been published in twenty collected volumes by Kodansha thus far.

Nippon Animation adapted part of the manga series into a twenty-five episode anime series which aired on TV Tokyo and TV Aichi from October 3, 2006 through March 27, 2007.[1]. The anime adaptation has been licensed for Region 1 release by A.D. Vision.

Plot

The Wallflower is about Sunako Nakahara, a girl who was called "ugly" by a boy, the first and only person to whom she confessed her love. This incident sparks a life change, and as a result Sunako shuns all forms of beauty, both in herself as well as in life. Concerned by her change for the worst, Sunako's aunt, the owner of a beautiful mansion where four very handsome students live, offers the guys free rent in her mansion if they can turn Sunako into a "perfect lady" (referred to in Japan as the titular Yamato Nadeshiko).

My thoughts

Well, honestly at first i really got distracted with the art, especially the "lips" it thought they were drawn too much, although im not quite sure if the artist did that intentionally, basing from the art, it really wasn't my cup of tea. But as i watched the episodes(all 7 of them) i just can't help but to laugh at every one of them, although it did have a "Gokusen" "yankumi" feel in it, it was nonetheless fun. If you're just bored and you want to laugh senseless i would really recomend this anime.

Nodame Cantabile

Nodame Cantabile (のだめカンタービレ, Nodame Kantābire?) is an ongoing manga by Tomoko Ninomiya. It has been published in Japan by Kodansha in the magazine Kiss since 2001 and collected in 19 tankobon volumes to date (as of December 2007). It is licensed in North America by Del Rey Manga. The series received the 2004 Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo.[1] When volume 19 was released in November 2007, the Japanese Comic Ranking at #1 at its debut.

The series has been adapted twice on television, as a live-action drama that aired in 2006 and as an anime series that aired in 2007, a 2 night live-action drama special was aired in January 2008.

Plot

Based on the hit comic book by Tomoko Ninomiya, this is a fun-filled quirky romantic story of two very opposite people.

Megumi Noda, or “Nodame” is a piano student at Momogaoka College of Music. An extremely talented pianist who wants to be a kindergarten teacher, she prefers playing by ear rather than reading the music score. She is messy and disorganized, takes baths several days apart and loves to eat, sometimes stealing her friend’s lunchbox when it is filled with delicacies.

Shinichi Chiaki, is Momogaoka’s top student. Born into a musical family, he is talented in piano and violin and has secret ambitions to become a conductor. An arrogant multi-lingual perfectionist who once lived abroad in the music capitals of the world as a young boy (namely Prague), he is trapped in Japan because of his childhood phobia.

They meet by accident. Nodame quickly falls in love, but it takes much longer for Chiaki to even begin to appreciate Nodame’s unusual qualities. Their relationship causes them both to develop and grow. Along the way, they meet some crazy people (like Masumi, Mine, and Stresemann) and make lasting friendships. Because of Nodame, Chiaki gets the opportunity to lead a student orchestra and begins to have a broader appreciation of people's musical abilities. Because of Chiaki, Nodame faces her fears and enters a piano competition. Opportunities open up as both begin taking risks, stretching themselves far more than they ever thought possible.

My thoughts

Actually, i would never have watched or even payed attention to this anime if it wasn't for a good friend(Ka-chan!!! T_T), we watched it at lab C at school while "doing our ics 21&22 activity" and we instantly fell in love with the story. Nodame Cantabile is a very refreshing anime, with every episode leaving you wanting for more. Nodame and Chiaki's antics made me laugh as well as touched me leaving me teary eyed, the art as well as the soundtrack is very pleasant for both your eyes and your ears. If you have'nt watched the anime then i really urge you to watch, the anime is not just for people who appreciates classical music but for everyone.

Last stop...

Katekyō Hitman Reborn!

Reborn!
, known in Japan as Katekyō Hitman Reborn! (家庭教師ヒットマンREBORN!, Katekyō Hittoman REBORN!?, which would literally be Katei Kyōshi Hittoman Reborn! and translated as Home Tutor Hitman Reborn!), is a Japanese comedy manga written and illustrated by Akira Amano.

The manga is published in Japan by Shueisha's Jump Comics imprint and is serialized in the manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump. On October 7, 2006, an anime adaptation created by Artland premiered on the Japanese television network TV Tokyo.

Plot

Reborn! is about a boy, Tsunayoshi "Tsuna" Sawada, who is chosen to become a Mafia Boss. Tsuna unwillingly undergoes training from Reborn, a hitman from Italy. Timoteo a.k.a. "Vongola IX," the head of the VongolaFamily, sent Reborn to train Tsuna; the first Vongola boss moved to Japan, and Tsuna was hisgreat-great-great grandson; the other candidates for the position of the head of the Vongola family died.

Enrico, who was the leading candidate to become "Vongola X", died in a gun battle. Massimo, the second,"sleeps with the fishes." Federico, the favored son, was found as a pile of bones. For these reasons, Tsuna isthe only remaining heir.Reborn's main instrument of choice in teaching Tsuna is the "Dying Will Bullet" ("Deathperation Shot" in the English versions), which will make the person be "reborn" with a stronger self intent on fulfilling his dying will.

My thoughts

If your an avid fan of Naruto and Bleach, or just plainly a shounen fan then this anime is good for you. I honestly watched this anime for one reason and that was "lambo", but the as I watched more reborn i learnedto really love the anime, its not as serious as bleach and naruto when it comes to the fighting because it doesn't just focus on defeating you-know-who and saving some damesel in distress but, its kinda like a slice of life anime but not quite like that let me just say this, and im not saying this because im not a bleach or naruto fan but...there are still loads of shounen animes that are better than both of the ones i have mentioned(i prefer naruto to bleach though). Katekyo is a really fun anime although the anime has a really huge line-up of fillers, i read the manga so i know, but every filler is refreshing.

So, let me just end there, at least for today, im going to post more soon, if you didn't get what i said then there's only one thing to do, watch the anime! Again let me just say, i understand that each and everyone of us has his/her own preference when watching anime or any kind of movie, but we will never know what we truly want if we don't find out for ourselves. So happy watching!!!
